Damian Marley in Abu Dhabi
Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley is coming to Abu Dhabi on the final day of the WOMAD festival, 24th April, at the Abu Dhabi corniche. The festival itself is a three day celebration of international music, art, and dance. The best part is that all of it is free!
Damian Marley is a Jamiacan reggae artist and the youngest son of the late Bob Marley. He has released four studio albums and won three Grammy Awards. His hits include Welcome to Jamrock, Road to Zion (featuring NasĀ — video above), and All Night (featuring Stephen Marley).
Studio Albums:
- Mr. Marley – 1996
- Halfway Tree – 2001 (2002 Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album)
- Welcome to Jamrock – 2005 (2006 Grammy for Best Reggae Album and Best Urban/Alternative Performance)
- Distant Relatives with Nas – 2010 (to be released on 18 May 2010)
Distant Relatives is the latest upcoming release and a collaboration between Damian Marley and Nasir Jones (Nas). The title track As We Enter has been leaked and features the duo bouncing the flow back and forth between one and another. (Watch the interview)
