Dubai Jazz Fest 2010
It’s that time of the year again to welcome one of the most significant musical events of the region in the Dubai Jazz Festival 2010. Held this year from 10 thru 19 February, we’ll get to witness the likes of The Brand New Heavies, U-NAM, David Gray, and James Morrison.
The Dubai Jazz Festival will be held at the Dubai Media City Amphitheater.
This year there will be the Network Jazz Garden featuring two artists per night from 10 – 16 February with entrance for free when preregistering online, or 100 AED at the door (with two drinks). Doors open at 7pm during these days.
The Main Concerts will be held on the last three days of the festival from 17 – 19 February. Tickets for these nights are 275 AED regular, 575 AED for front seated, or 975 for VIP with open bar. Bulk tickets featuring discounted prices are also available. Doors open at 4pm on these days

U-NAM | 6:00pm – 7:00pm | Network Stage
Professional guitarist with a strong fixture at Paris studio sessions, with his sophomore album “Back from the 80’s” produced the #1 hit “Street Life” which topped the US Billboard Top 3 charts for 3 months and the Top 10 charts for an entire year.
Charbel Rouhana | 7:30pm – 8:30pm | Skywards Stage
Winner of the Murex d’Or for the year 2000 / Musician of the Year and of the First Prize at the 1990 Hirayama, Japan competition for the composition “Hymn of Peace”. Charbel composed music for the choreographer Abdul Halim Caracalla’s amongst other TV and live shows.
James Taylor Quarter | 9:00pm – 10:00pm | Network Stage
JTQ have evolved as one of the most exciting and popular touring bands in the UK. With 20 albums to their name, their recorded output is notable with albums touching genres as diverse as jazz, funk, soul, rock, and even rap.
The Brand New Heavies | 10:30pm – 12:00am | Skywards Stage
Pioneers of the London acid jazz scene who translated their love for the funk grooves of the 1970s into a sophisticated sound that carried the torch for classic soul in an era dominated by hip-hop.

Atilla Molnar | 6:00pm – 7:00pm | Network Stage
An outstanding Jazz pianist performing in the US with top 40 bands, jazz-combos and as a solo pianist. His passion, highlighted in his debut CD “Dreams”, extends to composing all kinds of music, such as Modern Classical, Jazz, Pop, Latin, and R&B to name a few.
Jane Monheit | 7:30pm – 8:30pm | Skywards Stage
Firmly established as one of the post-millennial jazz world’s foremost vocalists, Jane Monheit has managed to make the trip in just eight years. She has built an impeccable reputation for her professionalism and undying passion for her music.
Lao Tizer | 9:00pm – 10:00pm | Network Stage
A unique artist captivating audience of all tastes; and been stated as “an independent artist with all the right moves” and “a torchbearer for the new generation of contemporary jazz.” He is a “Best New Jazz Artist” nominee with a continuing growth as a composer.
David Gray | 10:30pm – 12:00am | Skywards Stage
David Gray is not one to rest on his laurels; 12 million album sales, the for his ‘White Ladder’, a BAFTA nomination for his soundtrack on Amma Assante’s 2004 film ‘A Way Of Life’, two Ivor Novellos, a Q award, two Brit nominations, and a Grammy nomination.

Marion Meadown | 6:00pm – 7:00pm | Network Stage
Meadows became a well-known sideman saxophonist in his own right, recording and performing over the years with legendary names. He became a staple of the smooth jazz format with his subsequent outstanding recordings.
Laura Izibor | 7:30pm – 8:30pm | Skywards Stage
This fast rising star is best described as sensual and genuine artist with a distinctive and heavily experienced vocals portraying her as one of the unique and inclusive R&B, Blues, Soul and Jazz performers who made writing contributions to each of her songs.
Brett Dennen | 9:00pm – 10:00pm | Network Stage
With an earnest magnificent voice, he is best described as the master of the new soothing music genre. His uniqueness in composing genuine lyrics attracts a huge audience securing him the title of the sensual and gifted artist by far.
James Morrison | 10:30pm – 12:00am | Skywards Stage
Described as the British Stevie Wonder, the chart topper accessed a global sales record of more than 2 million for his `’`Undiscovered”, one of the top 10 best selling albums of 2007 in the UK securing him the Brit Award for Best British Male Solo Artist in 2007.
