The Blind Side is a 2009 American sports drama written and directed by John Lee Hancock (known for The Alamo) based on a true story. The movie stars Sandra Bullock in a moving and pivotal role which has already earned her Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Drama.
The film is based on a 2006 book entitled The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game by Michael Lewis. The storyline follows the life of Michael Oher, his adoption by passionate parents, and his journey to become a celebrated professional athlete and American Football player.
This film has earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture and Best Actress for Sandra Bullock.
The Blind Side releases in Dubai cinemas on 4 February.

Plot: The Blind Side depicts the story of Michael Oher, a homeless African-American youngster from a broken home, taken in by the Touhys, a well-to-do white family who help him fulfill his potential. At the same time, Oher’s presence in the Touhys’ lives leads them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own. Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome. As a football player and student, Oher works hard and, with the help of his coaches and adopted family, becomes an All-American offensive left tackle. from IMDB.
