Burj Khalifa fireworks video
Burj Khalifa, as the tallest building in the world is now known, was inaugurated by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on 4 January 2010 amidst a dazzling display of coordinated fireworks, lightshow, music, and the dancing Dubai Fountain. It was an amazing sight as the 828 meter tower light up in fireworks from bottom to top, and then down again.
Sheikh Mohammed unveiled a plaque at the tower’s base revealing the new name–a tribute to HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE and emir of Abu Dhabi. Festivities then kicked-off that included traditional folk dance performances and skydivers landing parachutes emblazoned with the colors of theUAE near the tower’s entrance.
Unveiling the nameplate, Shaikh Mohammad said: “We built the high rise for people with strong will and determination. The highest point in the world should be linked to the big names and I announce today [Monday] the opening of Burj Khalifa Bin Zayed.” (1)
As the Dubai Fountain danced, fireworks set-off in a carefully choreographed piece which left the thousands of spectators in awe.
