15 best places to watch the Burj Dubai inauguration

We’ve scoured the city to come up with the 15 best places to watch the fireworks display for the Burj Dubai inauguration.

From number 15 to 8 we have identified spots across town where you can avoid the rush yet still get a unique view of the fireworks. If you’re going to brave the traffic and crowds then you should focus on numbers 7 to 1 as they are all in Downtown Burj Dubai. It would be a good idea to take the Dubai Metro downtown if you do decide to go and use the transporation options from the Burj Dubai Metro Station.

For some of us, the best place will be at home on the couch. In that case, tune in to Dubai TV which will be providing live coverage in English.

Remember, the inauguration begins at 8:00pm.

15. Dubai Al Ain Road

Closer towards downtown, there are some elevated views of the city on this road which provide unobstructed views of the skyline.

14. Al Quoz Park

This park is a good option for those living or working in the area.

13. Al Khail Road

Al Khail Road has several locations where you can get a good view of Downtown. Just make sure that if you decide to stop alongside the road, you park as far as possible from the side of the road to be safe, and while on foot stay off the road at all times.

12. Festival City

The Festival City promenade provide a great vantage point for families to observe from afar.

11. The Beach

Fortunately for us, Dubai’s beaches provide a clear line of sight to the Burj Dubai. In particular, the beach across from Mercato has a concrete wave breaker at the end which provides elevation and an excellent place to setup you camera.

You can also try the Jumeirah open beach or the space next to the Jumeirah Beach Park.

10. Safa Park

This is an excellent option for families. There’s also a lot next to Safa Park and across from Medcare Hospital that can be used for viewing.

9. Next to Mazaya Plaza

Park on the road next to Mazaya Plaza, directly opposite the Burj Dubai, get on the sidewalk and enjoy the show.

8. Pax at the Dusit Thani Hotel

On the 24th floor of the Dusit Thani Hotel, the Pax restaurant and bar offers great views of Downtown.

7. Neos Sky Lounge at The Address

For a truly unique elevated view, Neos Sky Lounge on the 63rd floor of The Address Hotel can’t be beat. Just know that this place will not be light on your wallet.

6. Souk Al Bahar

If you’ve got the courage to deal with the crowds, head down to the Souk Al Bahr and post up at one of the many Souk Al Bahar restaurants. We recommend Baker & Spice, Margaux, Dean & Deluca and Urbano for the views (but, there are many others).

5. TGI Friday’s terrace at the Dubai Mall

If you can get a table on the terrace out here, you will have a beautiful view of the entire space.

4. Dubai Mall Waterfront Promenade

There’s standing room on the Promenade or get a table at one of the many restaurants alongside. If possible get on the brige connecting Souk Al Bahar to the Promenade. There will also be giant TV screens here with live coverage of the event.

3. Burj Park Island

The newly opened Burj Park Island will accomodate the public on a first-come first-served basis. Gates open at 4pm so get there early. Gates will close after the park is full. There will also be some dining options (in the form of kiosks).

2. Calabar at The Address Hotel

Get an elevated view of the Burj Dubai and party at the same time on the huge terrace at Calabar.

(You can also try the pool at The Address Dubai Mall.)

1. Fai at The Palace Hotel

In our opinion, this bar is the best place to get together with your friends and enjoy the outdoor space overlooking the Burj Lake and the Burj Dubai.
