du announced the launch its new Video on Demand (VOD) service that will enable du TV subscribers to access hundreds of movies from the comfort of their own home. From 20th December 2009, viewers will be able to select from a rich catalogue of the latest Arabic cinema, Hollywood and Bollywood blockbusters and some of the world’s most classic movies, all at the click of a button with du TV.
The Video on Demand service will be available to all du customers, both existing and new, who have subscribed to du TV. du customers only have to select their film by a simple touch on the du TV remote control and can watch it as many times as they like within 48 hours. Like a DVD, customers can pause, rewind and fast-forward the action – empowering them to have full control over their viewing experience.
The rates for watching a movie are between 7 AED – 19 AED, and charged in one consolidated bill for all du Home services issued every month.
Current titles are classified as recent releases on VoD worldwide (on average 6 months after the cinematic release) whereas library titles are VOD releases greater than 1 year old.
