Nol Blue personalized farecards are now available to the public for use on all of Dubai’s public transport. You can apply online on the RTA website or fill out an application at any of the Metro ticket counters.

Why would you need one?

If you’re a frequent user of the Dubai Metro, public bus, or water bus you’ll want to maintain a high balance on your farecard. The Nol Blue farecard allows for additional security through personalization (your picture goes on the back) and recovery in case the card is lost, stolen, or damaged. You also get secure online account services and sms/email notifications.

You can also pay for public parking at the meter using the Nol farecards.

What’s needed to apply?

• a digital passport-type photo to upload (.jpg format; less than 50k)
• a scan of you passport demographic page or Emirates ID card (.jpg format; less than 2MB)
• credit or debit card for payment

You’ll receive sms and email notification upon receipt of your application and again once it’s approved or rejected. Receiving your card takes 10-15 days, and it arrives by courier to your home or business. You can also track the status of your application.

Nol Blue cards cost 70 AED, and come with a 20 AED credit. The e-purse can hold up to 500 AED. You can top-up/recharge the farecard online, at Metro ticket counters, Metro ticket vending machines, RTA customer service offices, and authorized agents.
