Manchester City Football Club, one of the biggest transformations this season in the English Premier League, will play a friendly match with the UAE National Team at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, on November 12.
This will be the first official match for City in Abu Dhabi. The team will use the Emirates Palace facilities during the international breaks of the English Premier League.
Earlier this year, City’s new stars Carlos Tevez, Gareth Barry, Roque Santa Cruz, and old fave Steven Ireland were in Abu Dhabi for a signing.
On 11 November, we will have another signing opportunity when Stephen Ireland and and Nedum Onuoha are on hand at the Marina Mall Abu Dhabi, hosted by Umbro and Studio R.
“We hope to become the club of choice for the people of Abu Dhabi to follow, and make them proud of the football we play in the same way we aim to do with our supporters in Manchester.” said city manager Mark Hughes(1)
While not all the first team stars will be present–Carlos Tevez, Gareth Barry, Joleon Lescott, Kolo Toure, and Emmanuel Adebayor will not be there–you should get to see Craig Bellamy, Michael Johnson, Benjani, and Stephen Ireland, as well as, Robinho in street clothes.
Tickets were originally available from Virgina Megastores and Etihad Airways offices for 25 AED regular and 125 AED VIP. However, latest calls to these locations have not yielded any available tickets. Let us know if you find any!
