Dubai Cricket Stadium is a multi-purpose sports facility in Dubai, part of the Dubai Sports City development off Emirates Road. It is predominantly used for playing international cricket matches, and opened to the public with the Australia-Pakistan test series from 22 April, 2009.

It was officially opened by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, on 7 May 2009.

Stadium Design

The stadium has a capacity of 25,000 spectators, expandable to 30,000(1). It also features a unique “Ring of Fire” lighting system–a continuous array of flood lights placed around the perimter of the stadium shelter providing even lighting on the field.

In addition, the stadium’s circular design provides uninterrupted views of the play.

The stadium was designed by Architekten von Gerkan, Marg und Partner.

Seating Sections

Royal Box: features a 60 seat capacity, dedicated elevator, prime viewing location over bowling arm, and separate access

Gold Box: two suites on either side of the Royal Box of 24 seats each, elevator access, and dining service

VIP Box: twenty-four suites (twelve on each side) with 24 seats each, elevator access, and dining service

Corporate Box: seventeen suites with 12 seat capacity each, and dining service

Platinum Gallery: located over bowling arm on the south side; 406 seats and access to Platinum dining lounge

Premium Seating: 3500 seats south side; access to Premium Concourse

General Seating: 20,000 seat capacity

In addition, to the above there are also dedicated media and broadcast stations as well as a press conference hall.

Directions and Parking

The stadium is located in Dubai Sports City accessible from Emirates Road with adequate signage guiding drivers to the stadium. However, parking is limited in the stadium although there are temporary parking lots around the stadium as well as, other street parking. Shuttle buses also run from some parking lots, but you may end up having to walk quite a bit to the stadium.
