dubaimoves has learned that the Burj Dubai is set to open to the public officially on December 2, to coincide with the country’s National Day(1).

The world’s tallest building(2) was previously planned to open on September 9 along with the Dubai Metro, but this was postponed. Emaar–the developer behind the tower–has not commented on any specific opening date. The Burj Dubai is part of the US$ 20 billion Downtown Burj Dubai development. This 2 sq km mixed use urban area also features the low rise Old Town residences, the Dubai Mall and Burj Lake, as well as the Address and the Palace hotels amongst several others.

The final height of the tower has not been publicized, but the 160 story building is reported to stand 818 meters tall today.

On the same day, the first edition of Giorgio Armani’s signature hotel will open in the Burj Dubai. The Armani Hotel will feature 160 guest rooms and suites as well as 144 one and two bedroom Armani Residences(3).
