Chocopologie by Knipschildt Chocolatier has opened up at the Dubai Festival Waterfront Center.

The company, which was founded by Denmark native Fritz Knipschildt in 1999 in a 2,000-square-foot space on New Canaan Avenue in Norwalk, Conneticut USA, has opened it’s first international location in Dubai. The new 3,500-square-foot Dubai venue with seven employees opened 12th December, soon after the launch of a second 700-square-foot Chocopologie Cafe in the US.

Knipschildt Chocolatier makes handmade chocolates and truffles packaged in decorative boxes which have been widely recognized and awarded. They are also sold in the US through gourmet retailers such as Dean & Deluca and Whole Foods.

It’s an unusual expansion strategy for a small-business–but their local partners Saveur LLC made Knipschildt a deal he could no refuse.

“Our chocolate lounge is a very luxurious place so service and the quality of food should go hand in hand,” said Christel Moerck, the Dubai cafe manager who used to run the South Norwalk location(1).

Chocopologie Dubai is a chocolate lounge serving Artisan chocolates, homemade sweets, breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, tea, specialty coffee drinks, fresh juices, and milkshakes.

Chocopologie is open from 10am to 10pm Sunday through Wednesday and 10am to 10pm Thursday to Saturday.
